All the latest from Kingston Marine Boatyard

21 September 2015
Kingston Marine Boatyard has enjoyed the busy season at our Kingston Wharf site in East Cowes. We have been kept well occupied with a strong uptake on our seasonal special offers throughout the year, appealing to our regular customers on the Island - as well as mainlanders looking for great service at a price the south coast can't match!

Current Boatyard specials include 'Winter Early Bird Storage Rates', plus our ongoing 'Spruce Up Specials' for a lift, wash, and re-launch with 48 hours ashore, and 'Mid Season Scrubs' - the quick turnaround option.

We were pleased to have several Classics visit the yard during the summer months. These included the 54-foot yawl Stormy Weather (featured in our top photo) preparing first for Panerai British Classic Week and the Royal Yacht Squadron Bicentenary Regatta, before returning again to get ready for the Rolex Fastnet Race (which she won in 1935). The classic yacht Infanta also visited us in advance of the Panerei British Classic Week regatta, and we were pleased to provide a site facility for Dorade’s workshop container during the season.

Marine engineer and powerboat racer Tony Hamilton, who runs one of the several onsite marine businesses based at Kingston Wharf, took the aptly named Mr Noisy to the start line of the Cowes - Poole - Cowes race, where the boat performed very well whilst racing but sadly had to retire with fuelling issues.

The long-term restoration project on Zillaine continues in our main workshop under the stewardship of surveyor Nigel Harrison; in fact, we can report that Nigel likes being in the yard so much he is taking on a small unit as offices and storage!

Island RIBs, who moved to Kingston last year, are going from strength to strength, and have just finished exhibiting their third RIB at Southampton Boat Show.

A tenant from one of our largest units is moving on this November so we will have more space becoming available for marine trades; if you think that Kingston Wharf would suit your business then please do contact us.

Kingston Marine Services is now on both Facebook and Twitter, where you can see more on the stories featured above, plus, catch up on all sorts of other news and interesting snippets from what’s happening at Kingston Wharf.
